All naturopathic doctors have basic training in homeopathy and all will use at least some homeopathy in their practices. Prescribing for common acute conditions is quite straightforward but treating chronic and serious conditions with homeopathy requires a lot of additional training and experience.

The same is true for some other modalities, for example acupuncture, IV therapies and others. Some naturopaths specialize in those areas. It is mostly a matter of personal preference.

It can also be less rewarding financially than general naturopathy, as it can take many hours of unpaid additional study to find individualized remedies for patients and there are virtually no supplements to sell. Homeopathic remedies, compared with nutritional and herbal supplements, have little profit margins. Personally, I practice homeopathy because it is more effective and feels more integrous than giving a lot of supplements. It's also just plain fun and fascinating to find the elusive remedy.
