Why do you publish cases?
I have published some cases from my practice on this website to illustrate the scope of homeopathy, as well as the way in which I work. Cases are excellent teaching tools, even though they are anecdotal in nature. I especially like to write about successful treatments of children and animals, as these stories help to illustrate that homeopathy is more than just a placebo effect.
The case stories also point to our common humanity, our struggles and triumphs with life, the nature and mystery of health and disease and our deep connection to one another and to nature.
When I first started to practice I felt as if I had stumbled across the best-kept secret in medicine as patient after patient, sometimes with so-called incurable or untreatable conditions including multiple sclerosis, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, gangrene and serious psychiatric conditions, improved. I've always wanted to write about my experiences to inspire others to consider alternative and complementary health care modalities.
Although some of these stories may seem far fetched to the Canadian mindset, homeopathy and the results it produces is well-established in Europe, especially Germany and England, and increasingly in India, where numerous large homeopathic clinics see up to 1000 patients a day with every condition known to mankind. India also has 500 bed hospitals entirely dedicated to the treatment of all kinds of serious diseases with homeopathy, including cancer, diabetes and heart conditions. In particular the work being done on the treatment of cancer with homeopathy is garnering attention in North American circles, which has resulted in some interesting scientific studies on the effectiveness of certain homeopathic remedies for various kinds of cancers.
