Homeopathy in Emergency Medicine

I always thought that homeopathy would find an excellent place in emergency
medicine. If even a few remedies, such as Arnica for all sort of injuries, Aconite
for various states of shocks and Hypericum for nerve pain were commonly used
in the emergency room many patients would benefit and so would the medical
system and society by reducing costs. Unfortunately, in Canada, we are a long
way from having homeopaths working in emergency wards and ICUs as
compared to other countries as this study shows.

Animals can very successfully treated with homeopathy which goes to show that it is more than a placebo effects, as many critics of homeopathy suggest. In this study from the Netherlands, new-born piglets were treated with homeopathy to prevent diarrhea which is a common problem in piglets.

Homeopathic Treatment of Severe Eczema in Japanese Patients

This is a research study which was conducted in a hospital dermatology in

Homeopathy and Atopic Eczema in Children, a Study from Germany

In 2006 a prospective, multi-centre cohort study was conducted by a research team
at Berlin’s Charité University (Germany), including 103 primary care practices with
additional specialization in homeopathy in Germany and Switzerland. In this study
the use and effects of homeopathy under conditions of usual care were
investigated.
The study involved 3981 patients who consulted a physician for
classical homeopathic therapy in 103 primary care practices in Germany and
Switzerland. Disease severity and quality of life demonstrated marked and
sustained improvements following homeopathic treatment period. The study
indicates that homeopathic medical therapy may play a beneficial role in the long-
term care of patients with chronic diseases.
