Vaccine Issues

Vaccination is a controversial topic. I am being asked about it constantly. This page will try to provide some useful information for parents. More will be added over time.

Personally, I am not a hard-liner either way when it comes to vaccinations and will support parents in whatever decision they make. Medicine and science are constantly evolving, anyone who has a fixed opinion has quite simply not done their research.

There is no doubt that vaccines are useful and have their place. My own father suffered from polio as a teenager, spent months in an iron lung and was left with only one functional arm for his life. Now he has post-polio syndrome.

Problems with current vaccination programs

There is also no doubt in my mind that the way current vaccination programs are administered in Canada is harmful to many children, probably because too many vaccines are given simultaneously and too early in life. Populations who do not vaccinate their children at all have virtually no autism and much lower rates of asthma, as you will read further on. Seeing how dramatically some children improve after detoxifying the effects of vaccines is also quite eye-opening.

Most likely, the very best and safest ways to vaccinate have not been discovered yet. What we will likely see in the decades to come are changes in the way vaccines are administered and even produced. I would not be surprised if a more homeopathic model of prophylaxis becomes established, particularly for children under age two.

In the meantime, parents are left wondering what to do, but maybe I can help.

Homeopathic prophylaxis

There is already a significant body of research now showing that homeopathic preparations of disease organisms, such as meningococcal meningitis, leptospirosis and many others are effective in preventing disease. Take a look at this study on the prophylactic effect on Leptospirosis: 'Large-scale application of highly diluted bacteria for Leptospirosis epidemic control' and this more reader-friendly article: 'Homeopathy associated with dramatic reduction in Leptospirosis in Cuban population' published in Medical News Today. Here is an excerpt:

"In late 2007, in response to a developing epidemic, and with only enough vaccine to treat 15,000 high-risk people, the government decided to treat the entire population of the region, over one year of age, with a homeopathic medicine. This was prepared from the inactivated causative organism by the Cuban National Vaccine Institute.

The homeopathic medicine was given to the 2.3 million population of the provinces usually worst affected. Within a few weeks the number of cases had fallen from the forecast 38 to 4 cases per 100,000 per week, significantly fewer than the historically-based forecast for those weeks of the year. The 8.8 million population of the other provinces did not receive homeopathic treatment and the incidence was as forecast. The effect appeared to be sustained: there was an 84% reduction in infection in the treated region in the following year (2008) when, for the first time, incidence did not correlate with rainfall. In the same period, incidence in the untreated region increased by 22%."

To repeat, this was a government decision.

As far as we know now, homeopathic prophylaxis is not always as effective as the regular vaccines, but very effective nontheless. In the homeopathic preparations, none of the original pathogens or their products are still present, whereas in conventional vaccines they are, either in a live, weakened or altered form.

An all or nothing choice

The problem parents run into is that there are offered only an all or nothing choice by conventional doctors, which is wrong and limiting. If a parents chooses to vaccinate, giving the child certain supplements, including vitamin C, A, zinc and echinacea can help to reduce immune system over-reactions which may lead to neurological problems, but an MD will not tell the parents that. If a child experiences problem after the vaccination, regular MDs tend to deny this and also have nothing to offer in terms of treatment, whereas homeopathy does.

There is not a single study worldwide which has compared vaccinated to unvaccinated children long term. The studies that claim that vaccines are not involved in autism are not good scientific studies. Comparing children who were given MMR shots instead of DPT shots does not tell us that vaccines do not cause problems. I could cite many other examples.

Populations with unvaccinated children

What we do have now are populations which do not vaccinate their children, such as the Amish in the US and it is becoming evident that their autism rates are a fraction of that in the general, vaccinated population. Take a look at this interesting chart:

There is a lot more, which I will add here over time.

The International Medical Council on Vaccination is an association of medical doctors, registered nurses and other qualified medical professionals whose purpose is to counter the messages asserted by pharmaceutical companies, the government and medical agencies that vaccines are safe, effective and harmless.  Their conclusions have been reached individually by each member of the Council, after thousands of hours of personal research, study and observation.

Here is a link to an interesting interview with a Dr. Suzann Humphries, medical doctor and nephrologist (kidney disease specialist) and co-creator of the document "Vaccines, Get the Full Story", who noticed an increase in kidney damage after vaccinations. She did her own research on the topic and has now created a document questioning the safety and effectiveness of vaccines which has already been signed by over 100 medical doctors.
